Development of targeted assays for the identification and characterization of new anti-inflammatory and antioxidant drugs
The main objective of project is to provide proof-of-concept for new tests dealing with identification of anti-inflammatory molecules and/or leads binding to identified targets with high selectivity and affinity. The project is divided into three main tasks:
- Set up dedicated simple functional cellular tests for measuring inflammatory and/or pro-oxidant responses of different cell types. These tests should be applicable for medium-throughput screening (MTS).
- Screening of various bio-sourced mixtures using these MTS methodologies and fishing of the most promising bio-sourced mixtures by a specific technology with isolated target proteins.
- Cellular and biochemical characterization. Cellular toxicity, anti-inflammation and anti-oxidative properties of the most promising compounds will be characterized on acellular and cellular models, and the parameters of interaction between purified protein targets and the identified ligands will be assessed in vitro by appropriate biophysical approaches.

TERMS AND TENURE
This position will be based at the IMoPA UMR 7365 CNRS-UL and the CITHEFOR EA 3452 UL [Biology-health campus, Vandoeuvre-les-Nancy]. The duration cannot exceed 18 months.
The target start date for the position is June 2018, with some flexibility on the exact start date.
